Looking
to the future …… Sergio Valditerra
succeeded in developing an even more innovative train in 1989 known as the “Pony”.
An amazingly fast, compact and versatile train which served to further enhance
the standing of the already prestigious “Valditerra
system track renewal train”. The Pony has the capacity for
either re-laying or constructing a railway line from scratch. Information technology
has also been widely applied in this field, ensuring that the newly constructed
or relayed line, is perfectly laid, with the minimum labour input. Thanks to
the high safety levels, certified to quality standard, the laying of the HS Rome-
Naples line reached levels of 1300 metres of track laid in a single 8-hour shift,
using only 12 men, the constant average maintained always being of 864 metres
of finished track. The Pony train has reached such highly rationalized automated
operating levels that it is able to ensure the greatest safety and performance
levels in shifts of only 2 hours. Up to date, it has been unrivalled in all
aspects. Valditerra: ongoing innovation, research and know-how. The
Valditerra company is now in its
third generation, and its classification as a “railway construction” company,
is hardly worthy of it. Over the past seventy years, thanks to the renown and
acclaim of its operations both on the domestic and international markets and its
proven know-how and innovative capacity; it is now synonymous with excellence,
both in terms of research and as a point of reference for the operators in the
field. Those in the sector seeking a point of reference in terms of high safety
standards in the railway construction field in fact, cannot but look to the “Valditerra
system track renewal train”, and all the related know-how that
it has generated. The Rome-Naples HS line.
